In numerology, a number is a symbol you learn to read, a kind of silent language.
A number, in numerology, is a digit from 1 to 9 drawn from a name or a date. To get it, you add up the digits of a total until only one is left: 1987 gives 1 + 9 + 8 + 7 = 25, then 2 + 5 = 7. The total before the reduction is noted beside it, in the form 25/7, and it sheds light on the final digit. These numbers are symbols to read, and they don’t announce anything.
A bar standing alone, with no support: the 1 stands straight and opens the way.
Two is already a relationship: you only know yourself in contact with the other.
The 3 needs to speak, and its joy is worth more the more it is shared.
A square well placed: the 4 has the shape of a base.
The 5 keeps moving around a center that itself stays.
Six days of work, then rest: the 6 finishes and prepares the home for others.
The 7 starts with a step back, to observe what hides beneath the surface.
With the 8, an idea finally takes shape.
Last of the single digits, the 9 looks toward humanity in general.
When an addition lands on 11 or 22, the number is kept as it is, as a master number, with its reduction noted beside it. The 33 is also kept, even though some schools bring it down to 6.
11, 22 and 33 have their own page: the master numbers.
